Which sometimes comes off as visionary and other times more aloof. They kind of fancy themselves artistes more than the sellers of plugins. So even with the cost of the Nebula plugin that's dirt cheap for what is, to my ears, some of the best reverbs ITB (there are some Cupwise plates that are excellent as well as some PCM stuff from AITB.lots and lots of good reverbs). But like you can get all the VNXT reverbs (EMT-140, 240, Bx15, 20, some other rare spring) for under $100. Their pricing is weird anyway (they charged like triple for the Fairchild compressor bc the original hardware is so expensive which is cute and all but there are those among us who feel a $400 Acqua compressor is ludicrous). Nebula is definitely cheaper if you know what you're doing (buy N3, buy some libraries, enjoy) but if you get caught up in Acquas it's as expensive as most things. I like some things better but I wouldn't cry about having to use UAD or some of the other great alternatives.

So far it loads old Nebula libraries (mostly bug free apparently) but it doesn't support Setups (which a lot of people depend on), doesn't have multi-instancing (which is why a lot of people were holding out for v4) and it seems to be buggier than v3 (at least one of the top third party devs is recommending you just stay on 3).it seems to bring little to nothing to the table. The release of Nebula 4 on the other hand.(to be fair: I don't own Nebula 4) has a lot of people confused. They destroy the next nearest SSL or classic era Neve emulations that I've used. The quality of Gold and Sand (I haven't gone for Ebony yet) should not be underrated when considering the not so positive below.
The EQs and preamps continue to be about as good as it gets in software this has been the case for years. Personally I own Gold and Sand and, yes, they absolutely hold their own against 2017's best software compressors. The Acquas are basically multi-program Nebula plugins with a slick GUI. So are several others (Cobalt, Amethyst.can't recall which else). Sand (SSL EQs, saturation and compressors), Gold (Neve 8066 EQs, pres, 2252/2254 comps), Ebony (EMT 140 plate, EQs, comps) are all getting rave reviews. The release of several new Acqua plugins have continued to be successful. Acustica is getting mixed to good reviews in 2017:
